fearless not reckless in the work

Whether you want to expand your understanding and use of trauma-informed thinking in your practice or you're seeking support for working with complicated client cases, Cathy can help. With over 20 years' experience working with Complex PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder and other trauma-related conditions, Cathy offers education, expertise and support.

To complete my Master of Social Work degree, I chose to travel to Dallas, Texas to train with           Dr. Colin Ross in his inpatient trauma treatment program. I had studied his texts during my academic work and wanted to gain experience working with patients with trauma-related conditions such as Dissociative Identity Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder (Complex PTSD) and Post-Traumatic Stress response. Facilitating up to 12 groups and several individual sessions, weekly, prepared me to work with the most complicated populations. I learned to be fearless but not reckless in the work while always leading with a compassionate heart and holding conviction that each patient was capable of recovery for moving on with their life.

Make sure you’re truly interested in doing this kind of work because the field of trauma is a commitment.
